| Ok, so I read all the old threads on this topic (i'm bored at work). I have an extended factory warranty on my car. I won't be able to change the waterpump myself. I'm just not that mechanically inclined. I was thinking of maybe approaching the dealer where I got my car to see if maybe they would change it as sort of a "preventive maintenence" but we all know the answer to that one. I don't even know if it has been changed already (no contact with previous owner). Is there any way to tell, without taking it out, that the waterpump has been changed from plastic to metal? Or should I not care because if the whole thing fucking blows up they'll have to replace it all anyway?
