water and tailpipe

i have a 97 328i and i noticed water coming from my tail pipe when i started it up today to put it on the tow truck from a coolant leak my friend thinks its the water pump cause we did the thermostat and a bad bypass hose and it still overheated and he said that the water pump didnt work and he couldnt feel it in the hose pumping i hope thats all it is but we had to send it to garage cause the tools for the fan clutch are unavailable here in albany unless you are a dealer or mechanic any suggestions

Since water (vapor) is one of the products of gas combustion, that water may just have been vapor condensing out the cooler end of the tailpipe.

thanks yeah i know my friend confirmed that but the garage said i need a new fan clutch and not a waterpump but yeah i must look a little foolish with the water q hey you never know with bmws thats what im learning
