| Check both fans: the electric auxiliary fan (most likely the culprit) and the engine-driven viscous clutch fan. A very quick check for the aux fan is whether it comes on when you turn on the A/C (it should). The engine-driven fan should turn with some resistance if you try to spin it by hand (with the engine off!) -- if it spins freely, it needs to be replaced.
