Washer pump

Hey you guys. I just joined the site a few days ago. You guys seem really smart, so I need to know a quick question. I've been fixing up the little problems with my brand new 1995 318is. Today, I picked up a winshield wiper pump at a Bimmer shop. They gave me the normal pump, and a little black plastic tiestrap. As I was about to put in the new pump, I realized that the stock tie strap is metal. It was very hot too. Do you think that I should put the plastic tie strap? or will it melt with the heat of the engine? Tell me what you guys think, thanks
