Just an FYI for you guys looking to buy scanners to check up on police traffic, BE CAREFUL, MOST OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HAS SWITCHED TO DIGITAL (i.e. analog scanners won't give you anything). I went into radio shack to buy/program a scanner, and the guy told me that most of the southern part of the state (most heavily orange county) has switched over to digital signals. If you live in OC don't buy a scanner, you will get nothing out of it (no police traffic, anyway)!
I don't know anything about digital scanners being sold...I will definetely be looking around, and let you guys know If I find anything.
Point of the story: check with your local radioshack and see if the cops are still using analog or have switched to digital, could save you 200 bucks!
GAAHH, I hate living in OC - most technologically advanced cops in the friggin world.
Get a crotch rocket and just fucking run from the cops.... although its 6k more than a scanner i think you'll get more enjoyment
FYI know the area if u take my advice.... tehehe

Scanner = a radio that lets you tap in on radio signals, i.e. weather stations, trucker channels, police channels etc etc.
The cops in OC (and other areas) have switched to digital frequencies so analog scanner won't pick up on the signals. I just hope that it's easier to tune damn digital frequencies...lol
All you bastards who live outside CA have it made, around here cops get new tech every friggin 3 months, not to mention they all cruise around in radio silence and with their radar guns off. GAH If I lived anywhere else I'd never get a ticket...

You think your's are. The cops in my city (small suburb of madison) were featured in a magazine because they are so technologically advanced. The funny thing is they haven't even switched to laser guns yet, or maybe they did and didn't tel anyone tricky bastards.

Yeah well you can't be scared until they start radaring you from airplanes... Oh Wait!! They do!! At least up here in NW Washington they do, and radar detectors don't pick those up. a friend of mine just got busted by plane a little while ago.
