Schnitzersteve is an unknown quantity at this point
I have a warning light come up on my BMW at the weekend, its a red round circle with 3 dashes around either side could someone tell me what this is please??

Sounds like ABS...if you have it. It is saying that there is an error with the ABS (anti-lock braking) system. you should get this checked out because when this light is illuminated, the system may be disabled.

Ok thanks Matt, i was hoping it might be something a little more straight forward like brake pads!!, would my car fail an MOT with this light showing do you think?

Another thing im just sitting here thinking, i think there is a light that actually reads "ABS", or am i mistaken, i have a 92' BMW 320I sport auto. (Looks like the M3 though (!!) .
