vibrating and acerlating problem - BMW Forum

it all started with a little vibration only sometimes then it turned into a bigger vibration everytime i stop which is what i have now ... then when i try and give it gas away from a stop it feel like i have no power and can barely get the car to move, but as i get up into higher speeds it is fine. the gear symbol is not illuminated but doesnt really mean much. i ordered the scanner from pellican parts and just waiting for it to come in.

does any1 have any idea/suggestions i can try??

sounds to me like a sticking caliper. the vibration is probably due to a warped brake rotor

the thing is it dont allways do it .. but if it is vibrating and i put it into park and take my foot off the brake it still does it

Sounds like an inbalance in the trans or engine is it rpm or speed/ gear related

maybe when it does it remember what gear/s it does it in pedel pressure and whats on(ex. a/c ) b/c my e38 was doing that same symbtoms the balancer was shot and was moving all over the place and made bad nosies when the a/c was on and i would trigger i think it was the knock sensor and limit power (4.4L m62) what model, engine, year, miles, ect. is yours

its the 96 328i (e36) ... but i got my scan tool in and its reading a misfire on cyl's #2,5,6 ... any ideas what it could be.. some1 said it could be the coilpacks .. any other ideas??

ignition coils, ignition coil boots...?

hah. my car is doing the same thing and when someone test drives it...nothing goes wrong. my vibrating usually happens when the car is cold and the no power happens usually in 2nd gear. It really ticks me off...almost feels like my car is slow to react.

yea tell me about it, my usually only does it in 1st gear when taking off ... but yea it doesnt always do it

does it shake while you are sitting there like waiting for a light? cuz i feel like i'm shaking back and forth...you can even tell if you are behind my car. I might just have a different problem...maybe change my spark plugs? hehe, i'm not too sure, i'm a girl I don't know everything about cars. :/
