Hello all,
I hope someone can help with my problem. The dealer seems to be at a loss. I have a 99 e36 318ti with the m44 engine, with 50,000 miles on it. Whenever it is really cold it gives me trouble ----if the temp is between 33-40 degress out it starts but idels very rough till i rev the engine and get the temp up.....If it is below 32 degress it give me a very hard time starting I have pump the gas to get it to turn over, then it idles real rough till it warms up. I have brought it to the dealer 3 times already. The first time they told me it was because a slight oil leak was foulling the spark--- after that did not fix the problem they told me it was the idle control valve. Still having the same trouble with a new icv. Does anone have any advise or things I can try. When it is above 40 derees it starts right up. oh yeah--when the engine light comes on after it idles rough it gives me a one time missfire code.... Thanks in advance I would like to get this fixed while it is still under cpo warranty. :cheers
