I have noise coming from my vanos like a rattling sound. I read in a post somehwere you can clean like the solenoid out and the noise will go away. Does anyone know of this and how to do it or how hard it is? Thanks
At times my vanos makes a diesel engine type sound (if you know what i mean)..seems to be functioning properly tho. I would be curious to that DIY as wel...
Someone said to look in your bently manual and find where the solenoid is and clean it our or buy a new one for $100 bucks but those manuals aren't that descriptive

I already posted in the members forum that it is for sale to anyone that wants it. I'm not out to make any money, I'll sell it for like $10 shipped to anywhere in the continental USA.
Its pretty useful, although I've found that its less and less useful the farther back you go. For e36's/e39's and the likes, and any vehicle which is newer its great.. for e30's and older, its not as good but still somewhat useful.
