Used Clutch

I am trying to buy a used clutch from a local foreign car part shop. He's trying to sell me a clutch from a e36 318ti to put on my e36 328is saying that the transmission is the same in these cars? Is this information correct?

Hmm don't think it uses the same clutch.

What I can tell you off the Bentley manual is that All the US 318's were built with Getrag S5D transmissions. The 328's have a ZF S5D320 Z, which is the same one they used on the US M3, which I doubt anyone would put in a 318 from teh factory.
