Help me please, i need some help here, really stuck. I recently had an MOT, it passed with no advisories, nothing. Just the other day not 7 days after the MOT i started hearing an awfull knoking noise that occurs when going over bumps and small pot holes, it was never there before. The noise is comming from the Near Side Rear Wheel area, well this is what it sounds like anyway.I have checked the bushes, they look ok, can someone give a list of all the things that could cause this noise please.. I've the done the suspension test, by pushing the rear of the car down, it returns to it's normal postion with 2 bounces.
Please somebody help me, this noise sounds dangerous.
Call the shop that did the MOT. I've heard of shops intentionaly doing damages to cars during inspections with the hope that the woner will bring the car back to them.

Are not the rear top mounts on the struts are weak point on the E36? I am sure thats what I have read elswhere......not in here of course, everything is perfect in here!
Check the rear top mounts, if they had the suspension hanging and yanked (pardon the expression) it around a bit, its possible they could have disturbed a previously worn but silent bush.
Worn but silent bush.........??? No comments please!
