has any one put in aftermarket gauges? i like the look of autometer' carbon fiber series and i think it would look sweet if i could replace mine with something like that. ort add some for oil temp and and soem other stuff like that so does any one have oppinions.
Are you talking about the 3 VDO gauges that replace the sunglasses holder? If I had the money I'd get them, it's nice to know oil pressure oil temp and actually temp for coolant, not just lines.

If I were to get the VDOs i'd probably rig up a nice little warning light for like oil temp or pressure right between the speedo and tach. Where the nice little ///M is on the M3. But, this is assuming i had the money.

nothing says rice like pillar mounted guages IMO. What would be very cool and original would be to fabricate a small mount on the windsheild/dash area in front of the wheel with digital guages.

well if you live in a place where you have to constantly watch your temp gauge... pillar mounted gauges would be convenient...
sometimes i do 80-90 on the way home from school and its 100+ at that time... i have NO clue what my oil temp or pressure is...
The oil temp sensor is a different plug for the oil pan isn't it? Seeing as i ended up rethreading it i should probably take care of that if i want to add an oil temp gauge.

I don't like the aftermarket gauges, at least almost every aftermarket I have seen yet. When I was searching for a M3 (e30) I found one with all extra gauges fitted on the dash. It was a terrible look..... That was the main reason why I didn't purchase this one... It looked so RICEY!
But the thing you are asking for is to remove the old gauges and put in some new? Maybe install a M3 gauges cluster instead of the original, just my opinion B)

what about putting in a new screen thing that changes the color to say silver i will post some pics. i was thinking maybe putt them in the existing spots but add one here or there to get a cluster look on the sides and maybe add some digital amp temps for the stereo some where on the dash(there is like no good place for that so most likly not) also maybe put the hardcore racing ones in the glove box and open it up when they are needed. i would like 2 nitrous pressure guages when i get the 700hp plus nitrous goin i will post pics of the guages
