well guys i have 1000 bucks and cant change to an manual so dont throw up that option but which do u think is better a exhaust or getting the dinan tranny chip for my car or ... throw somethin out there bmw gurus
what years does dinan have tranny chips for? I have a 97, and have never seen it listed on their website, but I hear guys talk about them all the time.
dude with a thousand buck i would do this, 1. dinan cold air intake 2. dinan throttle body 3. buy a cheap ass chip off ebay, i did it works badass and if you want ill let you know who i got it from, with those 3 upgrades you will notice a difference and you will still have some cheese left over for some nugs
hey dude, good to see someone doin some mods!!
first off $1000 bucks is heaps for mods depending on what you actually want to do?
I mean if you want to get the absolute maxamum amount of power from your engine then $1000 bucks anin't goin to go far but if you just want to do an upgrade then I would suggest to do the CAI your self theres heaps of pages on this topic probably cost u around $60-70 maybe $100 to do it your self all you need is some stainless pipe curved down to a duct with a pod on the end and some stainless for a heat sheild, honestly the power differance from that and a dinan might be 1 hp or could be as much as 2hp but for that price does it really worry you? put a nice expensive exhaust on for about $500 this is important cause the CAI is usless unless you have a good flowing exhaust, while you are getting your exhaust fitted get your stanless pipe curved for your CAI they have all the gear for bending pipe!
they would even have some pipe noking around for the job!! after that put a throthle body in as "okczy21" said don't know how much they are? and use the rest of the spare doe to get a half decent chip!
if you have obd2 u could shark it! but I think there a complete wast of money! you can do some better mods than spend that much on a shark! go to a performance racing shop and get them to change the computer settings they have the neccesary equpment to do that kind of stuff.
you could on the other hand use the $1000 on suspension tuning it may not be HP gains but I bet you get from A to B faster!!!!
