Uneven heat - BMW Forum

The heater in my 328i does not heat up when it is turned on even when I turn it up full blast - It will put out heat on defrost but cannot be controled to a managable heat level. I have replaced thermostat any ideas

I have a 2000 BMW 328i. The AC works fine but the temp is real flaky - I have had it p to 80 deg. and no heat comming out - but if you put on defrost it works

I grew up in SF in the Portola Valley, right off San Bruno Ave.

Two things come to mind to be checked.

1) the final stage unit(the blower resistor) that you will find behind the center the dashboard top

2) the auxiliary pump and heater valve - that is by the brake booster

**in a rare case.. the heater core temp. sensor/switch - i woudnt bother with that for now
