I'm saving money for a full light swap on my 97 318i. I'm trying to get some euro ellipsoids w/ HID, clear turn, side and tail lights, and Xenon fog bulbs. My head lights are yellow and my fog lights are already busted, came that way with the car. Was wondering, are zkw fog lights worth the price? I found them at umnitza.com for 58 bucks per side. umnitza.com also had another "crystal clear" pair for 75 bucks. the "crystal" pair is really cheap but was wondering if any one knows if they will breakdown quickly or will last? Also can you get Advance Auto, O'Reillys, Autozone, or Napa to order ZKW's and price match them? Lastly which bulbs are the best for the price? Sylvanias, Philips, or the Xenesis which I found at bimmian.com?

IMO zkw's are worth the money... but if your going to invest in those things, then make sure to get laminx over them to protect them from rocks and shit like that... same with the head lights... or if your really picky, you can order the laminx bra off of laminx's site and itll cover the whole front for rock chips and stuff...

what do u mean by worth the money? do they last 2x as long? cuz im buying the same setup as saltshaker, that is clear lights all around.
lets put it this way... if you get the zkw's you dont have to worry about any of the effects that happen to regular ones such as fogging and shit.. put on the laminx stuff and itll last as long as your car does... bulbs will burn out over time of course, but the headunits will be good to go...
www.umnitza.com said they can't get zkw's in till mid to late august. So either I got to be patient or storm the local Advance/Autozone/O'Reillys and see if i can get some zkw's from them and have them price match them.

Don't buy from umnitza unless you're prepared to fight them to the teeth to get your stuff.

and the zkw fogs which are oem from umnitza are the cheapest i've seen
you could get hella fogs which are oem too from bav auto but they charge a little more, but customer service is top notch, i've bought all my parts through them, umnitza well lets just say i've heard bad things about them, the extra ten bucks for peace of mind was worth it to me
I have a pair of ZKWs with pre-installed DDEs from umnitza - aside from the quality of the light assembly itself, I'm not impressed. There is a small accent light on the bottom edge of the high-beam. Umnitza simply cut the wires for this accent light and used them for the DDEs, leaving the accent lights inoperable. I had to solder new leads and splice the accent lights back in. To me that's just indicative of lazy.
Thanks for the tip. Also for anyone who cares...www.autopartswarehouse.com has their zkw fog lights for normally 72 bucks but they also sell them on ebay and their about 62 bucks. wierd huh.
