Yup, just H1's come with the ZKW's. And after a few poor prior purchases, I love my Silverstars. But I want to be cool like his majesty and add the HID kit. I just keep finding things I "need" and have no $$ for things I "want" ghead ghead ghead

Hey jllphan id i were to order the umnitza offline...and put silverstars in them..... would they look like yours? Im confused on the temperature thing you were talking about on an earlier post to make them more white.

To answer your Q mark, the H1s in the fogs and the H1s in the ellipsoids are the same. Crazy, huh?

Also, the tempurature he is talking about has nothing to do with heat. Light itself is measured as a tempurature on the Kelvin Scale. The higher up on the scale, the higher up in the light spectrum. Standard halogens are about 1300 degrees kelvin (or yellow). Yellow fades to white around 3500K, and most OEM HID are rated at 4300K. Silverstars around supposed to be 4100 I think.

Ok, this is really not accurate, but it helps to illustrate what sire spoke of (pic below). I just related to the guys at umnitza, that there are many different types of Angel Eyes out there, and that I wanted WHITE. Not yellow, blue, or anything else.

And yes, if you had what you posted, it would be identical to my set up.

This is where is gets tricky. Kelvin does not measure brightness. Roughly 4000K has the highest lumen output. Anything over and you lose lumens due to color shift, anything under will not be as perceptively bright as something at the 4000K margin.

But wait, it gets more confusing.

A halogen cannot put out as many lumens as an HID even if it they are rated at the same color temp. If you think about this stuff long enough you'll just end up getting nosebleeds.

Prez, I wish I had people like you as a customer in my store more often. I try to explain the benefits of DLP and LCD RPTV based on the higher ANSI Lummen output with an HID bulb, and they just look at me and ask, "Ya mean ya'll put car lights in this here T-V?"

Sometimes, I want to do bad things to people....
