I know it been done to death but Ive been trying to figure it out for a few hours but anything i find has to do with offsets that arent stock ect.

Anyways... max tire size for 100% stock E36 coupe?
More specifically could i run 235/40/18 or will that rub. I plan to lower eventually and have no problem with fenderolling, just not right now. Sorry to flood the forum.

(now i know why people ask this question everyday, becuase its hard to find what your looking for unless someone answers your question directly)

To break it down further, i dont want to get too low profile becuase they are more money which means when i go to buy i new pair, i dont want to have to spend so much again. I dont want profile that is huge rubs though either. Basically tell me recommended fit (rim sizes too) please. I know there is someone out there with this info spewing out their ears, so help a bimma out.

I found this recent thread on the topic. I am not sure about sizes though. I am not interested in 18's(i think they look a bit too big on the car), I like 17's and haven't heard of any problems with 17s. I have heard that you can put 18's on and have no problems as long as you don't put a high profile tire on or lower your car.
