I have the UUC System U and it is very close to the rear valence, it is already on the last mounting hole so i can't lower anymore even if i wanted to, which i do (just a little). The tips do not touch, but are very close and I have never had any issues with melting. Here are some pics

the bumper is cool, but the rear valence is hot to the touch but withstandable. It was definitely NOT hot enough to melt the paint, my hood sitting in direct sunlight in the summer gets hotter than the rear valence does and that has never melted.

sorry. i was talking about the valence lol. i just dont want to look down someday and notice that it is melted that would suck!. thanx for you pics ill mess w/ it soon. i have come to the assumption that whatever the exhaust is madeout of holds the heat pretty well, as long as its not touchin anything. cuz i touch it for more than 1/2 a sec and it really hot but when im a little bit away it is fine . cya
hey young, if you can remeber what setting or place ure brackets are at...i hope that made sense. or where the screws are at for the position you have, that would be sweet to know.
The exhaust hangers are at the highest setting (cloest to the edge) so it is as low as possible. I would like it to be lower, but i need new rubber mounts to do so. Mine are the regular ones with the eye right down the middle, I need the ones that are offset back to drop it down about 1/2 an inch or so. Here are some pics of what I am talking about. I have the 1st ones and i need the other ones.
If you look at the 3rd picture of the exhaust I am using the holes that are closest to the edge. So, the very first hole starting from the edge. If i use the other one the exhause doesn't even fit. Hope this helps, let me know if i can help you any way else.
Oh, I'm also using 5 washers on the passenger side rubber hanger to push the tips to the left so they are centered.

So most rear bumpers do not have a diffuser? The black funny looking thing that hangs below and is kind of inset into the rear bumper? Because the exhaust on mine hangs just under and is notched into that black funny looking thing.
