Trunk Lip / Paint Questions - BMW Forum

Hi I have a 4 door 328i thats ascotgruen metallic color, and I'm looking to buy a trunk lip. Is anyone selling any? Also, I have a few questions. Are there any good companies that make trunk lips, or does it even matter? Where can I get it painted, just go to a shop and make them match it to my car color?

i know bekkers has one for E36 for like 40 bucks. www.bekkers.com is thier site. hope it helps

hey thanks for your reply. Yea I was just on that site today, they have 1 for E36 2 door so i dont know if that one will fit a 4 door, I guess I might have to contact them for that info. Waht about those lips on ebay for like $25, is there anything wrong with those?

The 4 door sedan and 2 door coupes use a different lip. sedan - E39 M5 lip, coupe - E46 M3 lip

The difference is in the width of the trunk. I bought mine from the dealer, so got an OEM E46 M3 lip and got it painted professionally. I looked for a while and decided that I still do not trust ebay(maybe if the lips were universal for both cars), I was figuring on spending $100 on a lip and did not want cheap crap(nothing against bekkers). The paint is probably going to be more expensive than the lip by they way too. When all if said and done a lip is getting close to a regular M3 spoiler so decide which you like better and get that. Bavauto.com has lips too. The dealer charged $112 and I got 2 quotes for paint $180 and $130. I was getting other paint done so ended up not having to pay for paint at all, but that is a different story.

The reason i didn't really want an m3 spoiler is because I don't want to drill holes in my car, but you're saying paint would be over $100? I didn't think it would be that expensive, i was thinking of spending maybe $150 tops with paint. thanks for your reply it was very helpful.
