The bolts that held the factory spoiler on my 318is rusted off and the spoiler has now been removed.
The spoiler is ruined as the bolts were rusted to the nots in the spoiler and 2 of the 4 were ripped out.
My trunk now has 4 nice and rusty holes in the top along with a slight bit of rust at the emblem.
I would like to do without a spoiler and now have to decide:
1. to repair the holes, emblem rust and have the lid repainted
2. try and get my hands on a used trunk lid (hopefully a black one that won't need to be repainted).
I would like to find the price of a used trunk lid before I go ahead do the repairs and have it repainted.
So if you have a trunk lid from a wreck or can point me in the right direction to find one it would be much appreciated.
I will set my profile to allow e-mails to be sent directly to me.
hmm, i have my old trunk sitting at my apartment, but im not going to sell it , just incase my current trunk screws up somehow, my opinion is to get a new trunk, but i would recommend a good visual inspection of it before you buy it most importantly at the lower edge or lip where rust is notorious for gathering. if its bad there than look for another trunk.. rust as you may know is yucky and a body shop can usually eliminate the majority of it, but really most body shops will honestly tell you they have only slowed the rusting down, not really stopped it.
check out http://www.vinesauto.com/ they've given better prices with shipping then places local to me. Just give them a call, I found that they've not figured out the e-mail thing quite yet...

That's why my first instinct was to try and locate a new trunk.
I tried eBay last night and wasn't able to find anything.
Tommorow I will try local salvage yards here in Winnipeg and a couple that I know had bmw's in Calgary.
I will also try giving vinesauto a call as thekid suggested.
I was hoping some one parting out an e36 on the forum would come across the post and contact me.

I tried vinesauto.com to no avail.
By the time I got home from University it was too late to try the salvage yards but I will try this weekend if they're open.
