I have just collected our 318 from the panel beaters where a new door retaining strap was fitted and the dent made when it blew open in a gale has been repaired ...
But on leaving the yard and driving home we noticed that the orange transmission warning light was on. It is the centre bottom of the dash. What does this mean? Should we not drive it again but get it towed to the BMW garage? It does seem sluggish. It drove home on the flat O.K., but struggled to get up the hill to our house.
I can't see that it can be anything to do with the panel beater but it did happen whilst it was in his care.
Would be grateful for advice - it is a public holiday for Easter in New Zealand and there is no technician available today.
depending on how many hills there are and how far it is to the dealer if you should drive it or not. if it's more than maybe like 10-15 miles and the tranny seems like it is okay i'd drive it but if there are a lot of hills and a long drive i'd prolly just tow it in. the reason for the light could be a number of things.
