Transmission Conversion

ok, so last night i was driving my mom's 2000 z3 2.3l, and loved how it could accelerate really quickly. so i get to my friends house and my friends start bashin that its an auto (its my moms, and she goes into the city and doesnt want to deal with a stick in teh city) so i am gonna show em up by showing that it can still spin the tires, so i turn on DSC and floor it and they just light up. after that i fell in love with teh way the car put the power to the wheels.

ok, so after that lovel story here is my question. would it be possible to transfer over a z3 transmission to my car? or any other automatic transmission that would perform better than mine does?

and if your going to be swapping tranny's just go for the manual dude.

The torque converter eats up a lot of hp - plus the fact that the auto tranny just weighs more.

If you are going to the trouble and $$ to do a transmission conversion - you can do a manual transmission conversion for as much or less than throwing another auto tranny in there.

It's really not that difficult to do - you may have to give up the convenience of cruise control (I don't think anyone has come up with a definitive solution to this). Also, I've noticed that the manual cars have automatic traction control (not sure if this is only in 94-up models) and as far as I know the stock automatics don't have this option.
