Unhappy

94 325is auto, 89k miles, dinan chip, k&n short CAI, rest of parts r stock.

condition : more frequent with A/C on, accelerating a bit quick like at corners
more frequent when engine just started

symtom : when tranny shifts up, car slams like it's hit from rear
shifting down is ok. At stops idling surges up&down only on auto mode
happens only on automatic mode, never happens on manual mode.
however, while manual mode if tranny is on 'D' tranny doesn't seem
to engage that good. I mean, It doesn't accelerate mostly.

It happens less after 30 minutes driving or without A/C

checking point : throttlebody, ICV cleaned
tranny fluid, engine oil changed today.

hi guys, i'm in serious trouble with this just-bought 325is. when i testdrove, a/c didn't work and I drove slowly. That's why I coudn't get any notice of this problem.
After a/c fix, on every a bit quick acceleration, the car lurches and kicks not to mention when I floor the gas pedal.

Previous owner insists that the car never gave him this kinda trouble. I guess he knew this already and he might have discharged a/c freon so that testdrivers don't use a/c. He never mentioned tranny or engine trouble when he sold the car. So we made the term of sale which says the money can be refunded only when car can't pass smogtest.

I'm not sure what the problem with your car is.

I just wanted to let you know that if you can prove that he did in fact discharge the freon in attempt to mis-inform any potential buyers then he just commited fraud. Which would terminate any term of sales agreement that you had with him.

well filters, hoses, plugs, ICV replaced...

nothing improved however

I think timing chain might be culprit. Has anyone heard kinda grinding noise
from timing chain cover around?

Can timing chain be loosened and make griding noise and result in miss-fire or smt like that? I guess when a/c is engaged, timing chain gets more pressure and could lead to miss-timing.

I got 3 days off the work to solve this problem. I'm so frustrated.
