Thumbs up

I'm thinking about having the Transmission fluid purged and replaced and need to know if I have to stick with a particular brand/type. I read about checking the fluid and the level being critical and checked at an exact temperature range...This is for a 96' 328iS..............

Thanks

Is the Mobil 1 synthetic? I run Mobil 1 in my engine and wanted to switch to a synthetic if it was available for transmissions...

All trans fluid are not the same and i have had some problems with my transmission to prove it.

I changed the fluid to Redline Manual trans fluid which is a great fluid but too thick for our cars when it is cold out. My car did not like going into 2nd gear and would grind every once and a while. BMW's use ATF in both Auto and 5 speed cars. I have sinced switched back to Redline ATF and it runs fine. Redline brand is supposed to be one of the best.

Moral of the story make sure you get ATF, and a high quality fluid.
