Back after a looong break...
I had to tear apart my car because of a serious wiring harness melt-down. Check out the pics... it was a mess. But I got almost everything back in shape now. The problem is I have a 92 e36 and the wiring harness I put in came out of a 94... the issue with that is the 92 wiring harness controls the windows and sunroof with a relais under the steering column vs. the 94 which requires a body controle module unit which sits under the clove compartment... (which is a good thing actually because the relais was prone to go bad all the time), however I don't have the module.
Does anybody know where I can get that module from without paying a million dollars at the dealership?
My hats off to you for that. This may sound a little weird, but if there is a BMW or European car repair (non dealer) near you give them a call. They might have one lieing around or have a donor car on their premisis or they might be able to hook you up with the part for 15% to perhaps even 30% below what the dealer will sell it to you for depending on who they order parts from. For instance my mechanic gets parts from a place in Georgia for anywhere between 15 and 30% off the dealership price, however, they only deal with shops.
Ebay is always the way to go, but I doubt that. Take it to soem shop that specializes in BMWs/Benzs and ask them to do it. I mean cmon dude wth. They cost a shit load less than the stealership.

Don't look too bad, but my question is what happened to the original harness when you say "meltdown"? I have repaired many harnesses especially fire damaged ones, so is the other harness repairable or what happened to it?
