So there was an autocross today. I beat the WRX in my class by 2 seconds. The mazdaspeed protege didn't show up. The guy in the RSX ran into a tire and messed up his front end, nice car it was a shame.
On the way back there was an acident so we tried to skip around it. We didn't go far enough got stuck in it. Then we got on a country road and it's moving the same speed. Finally we got home after like 2 hours when it should have taken us 1.
Some pictures.

Nah, he was a newb. With a couple more runs we'd be neck and neck. The turn that I'm about to come into was a bitch. 160 degrees down to the right. I took it sideways on my last run when I clipped a cone, woulda been my fastest run, stupid cones.

that's cool that yall have a track for that. All the ones I go to are in parking lots, so all you see are cones. Good job though Kev. I love to auto-x. I think I'm going to one later this month, gotta see exactly when I'm supposed to be back at school.
True we were walking the course with a large group of people. And i was standing looking at a 2 cone slalom with 2 staggard gates followed by a offset 3 cone slalom into the second big banked turn. One of the guys was like
" I think I'm going to take the inside of this cone it's basically a straight shot through these." And it was, but I said "I think you should take the outside on the first cone because you'll be set up for the second gate and the 3 cone slalom and therin the banked turn."
They were just like "stupid kid" amongst themselves. Out of the first 20 runs about half of them DNFed on the part that we had been discussing because they tried to take the "straight shot" through and carried too much speed into that second gate. Well actually if you got going anything over 30 that gate literally disappeared.
Go me I was right about the line.

dude that looks like a pretty tight track and good job on beating the rex its a nice accomplishment! i cant wait till i get into autox more! its soo badass!
Oh a little more on the course. It's not just an oval. That's just the only decent pictures my dad could get from where we was standing. They had us start up on one of the banks, then go busting down through to trip the timing lights.
Left handsweeper into the far banked turn that you could take as fast as you want because any extra speed you had got scuffed off by the bank. (This is where the RSX too a spill into a tire) You got around the far banked turn and come into a 2 cone slalom and 2 gates, then an offset three cone slalom.
Then you go around the close banked turn and into a 4 cone slalom (the second picture I was just coming into the start of this) Then at the end of it you had to make a 160* turn and go across the infield to trip the timing lights again. Here's a picture of me going across the infield part after the 160 turn.

nm i figure around madisonWI from where you are located! but i might be coming abck to beaverdam this summer with my girlfriend that anywhere close to you?
It's actually in rockford IL. Depending on when you're in Beaver Dam you might be able to make it to an autocross at Columbus 151. It's an oval but they set up cones and crap like this one.
