ES-100 hands down. Forget about any Korean tires. Kumho's last about one season, even less if you track your car. They get chewed up like they're made of the cheapest rubber on earth. They are good for wet traction, but dry traction is just slightly above average. For budget tires I'd recommend either the ES-100's or the FM901's. Falken's are good tires as well, quite cheap and great performance. However, if you don't track your car, it's completely wasted. They have a VERY short tread like, but grips like any expensive high performance tire.
2 brands to avoid at all costs, Nankang and Hankook. Death tires!

My brother just baught new shoes for his Z and was recomended the ES-100. The guy from tirerack actually said that everyone was putting them on their ///M3's. He loves them, and upon driving his whip I was also impressed. Of course Super HICAS steering doesn't hurt, but those tires are great!
Bridgestone's are great, I have had many sets all the way back to their acclaimed RE71 (best tire I've ever had, no longer available ) and would recomend them to anyone.
I've had Nitto's too (Extreme Performance line, forget actual model), and were unbelievable for what you pay. Very good lateral grip and suprising wet weather traction (this is what you usually sacrifice when buy a cheaper Z-rated tire).
I still might try the Yoks as I was impressed by the ES-100 upon test driving them. I will say there tread pattern looks awesome, but that tire protector on the sidewall makes for a less than spectacular look, if that's important to you.
I used to have a 1st gen Eclipse and I had some Yokohama AVS racing tires on it , they weren't QUITE street legal shhhhhhh, but I loved them to death! never had any problems with um and was quite impressed by them, but they stoped making them to make the street legal verson, the AVS ES100. So I would assume it would be a great tire as well...
I'm running Toyo's but those are expensive
I personally like Suhmitoma(spelling?) tires.
Thats what I have on the other set of wheels
They are in your price range, problem is they wear faster then other tires.
I loved them though, great grip, and QUIET
