Well I thought I was screwed when my 325is sunroof wouldn't tilt up or open!! After getting the car back today, they found the only problem was the sunroof tracks needed some lube. THATS IT! Running the sunroof without enough lube will damage the tracks (new tracks=$1800). Since it's summer time EVERYONE LUBE YOUR SUNROOFS! Peace :P

LOL!! You know I don't really know what they used! I would imagine some kinda silicone? Call the dealer they'll know. Probably some "special" BMW lube. Haha
i didnt even know my sunroof was supposed to open up all the way. i thought it just did the tilt up thing.
i was gonna ask about getting that fixed or even if my car's sunroof was supposed to open up all the way. its a 1996 318is. so? is the sunroof SUPPOSED to open up all the way on mine??
Mines goes back maybe....6 inches and then stops, but I thought it should go back all the way.
