Timing CAMS AND CRANK help

well i took my car to a shop so they could take the head off so i could get new valves put in, well after i got it back from the machine shop and the guy started to put my car back together he tells me that i have to buy the timing tools from BMW that cost like $320 i have no more money i just spent 1750 for parts and labor so can some one help me

so every one knows its a 98 323is with a M52 engine i dont want to sound stupid i just want to make sure if i get info i get ir for the right engine thanks for any help yall can offer

So he wants to charge you for him to purchase the tools.. so he can then use them on the next bmw and not charge that person?

No i keep the tool after he finishes my car, im just looking for someone who has the tool and wants to sell it or if they know of a website that sells it cheap
