I finally have broken down, and i am going to purchase a new suspension. I think that the H&R Cup suspension will be great for my price range. What do you guys think for a suspension below $800?
i also am wondering about how much it would cost to have it installed?
Yea i would agree with kevin on this. The H&R Cup kit will slam your car (2.1" drop in front and 1.7" in the back). If you want a moderate drop id go with the H&R sport springs and bilstein shocks. Together the price is around $680.
if you just some mechanic to do it ie. not getting a hookup on it. Then if its springs and struts look at $300-$400 if he's not trying to screw you at all.
all pricing aside. any coilover kit will give you a great look .. but the best ones out there for coilovers are the ground control coilovers and the bilstein pss and pss9 coilovers..
i was faced with the same problem and in the end i went with a set of Bilstien sports shocks and struts. and H&R springs.. needless to say im very pleased and happy with everything.
Strange, non of you guys have eibach? I have the pro kit with bilstein sport shocks and struts and the car handles great. It rides pretty smooth and the lowering is exactly where I want it. By the way, if you're planning to do it yourself, its not as bad as you think. It's a 3.5/5 with five being the hardest if you try it yourself. (I think yours an e36 325 right?)
Im with Furious on this one. Dollar for dollar you can't beat the PSS9 by Bilstein. I plan on adding this kit as soon as wear out my current set up....
