I am having a problem resetting my time and date. When I press the time or date button, I get the message "Input time/date". but, it will not accept any input. Am I missing a step?
I tried the battery disconnect. then, upon closer inspection, I realized my time & date display is working. It's just that it does not light up anymore. The proper time and date are there. I just have to hold a flashlight on it to see them. Just like my odometer/trip meter. Any ideas?
The E36 and E39 were notorious for having the solder or bulbs failing in the OBC. Their are numerous DIY's on how to fix it, but it involves taking apart the OBC to get to the circuit board inside. If your not good at fixing delicate electronics I would find someone to do this for you, or replace the OBC.
Gents/Ladies: I replaced all four bulbs in my E36 OBC and now the display is brilliant. The problem I'm having is when I put in the time and hit the "set/res" button, it erases the input and goes back to a series of dashes. How do I get the OBC to keep the time?
