Three Beeps ???

Does anyone know what does it mean when one hears three beeps from the speakers (even when the radio is off) ? There are no adverse lights/indications of any kind otherwise. its a 1994 318iS E36.

could be either a memo, temp below 38º open door.. explain more, and when it happends...

it doesn't come under any specific circumstances. Sometimes just after i start driving, sometimes after a while, sometimes on the highway, and sometimes even when idling. it doesn't necessarily beeps everytime the car is on. sometimes it doesn't beeps at all. again, there are no adverse lights or any other form of indication otherwise.

Does it seem to beep at :55 or :59 (I forget which one it's supposed to be)? In that case, it's the memo function,

where does the beeping come from? under the dash? near the brake pedel?

i dont know exactly, but it sounds like its coming from speakers. i dont see any relation between engine speed and the beep or car speed and the beep. i haven't noticed the clock while it beeps. perhaps it will be that hourly memo. will keep my eye on it now, just to make sure.

It is the hourly memo. Three beeps a few minutes before the top of each hour.

To turn it off press the radar looking button in your OBC once and you'll see that symbol disappear from the OBC screen.

hehehe, i used to get panicked upon hearing the beeps, but now since i know what it means, i don't want to turn it off, it sounds so cool :P gives me the sense of operating the state-of-the-art machine !!!

it beeps once an hour, 15min before the hour! so at xx.45! i think thats wht my manual said!

mine doesnt beep according tho those times...this morning it beeped @ 9:14am and again @ 2:26pm.....ahwell aslong as the beep doesnt mean theres somehting wrong with my car im happy
