I got the ZKW's with DDE Lighting Plus in them and I was wondering if it's normal to be able to see the blue wires on the DDE rings at the top?
also did the safeguard on them come preinstalled? or how do you tell if they're on there? it came with two pieces of safe guard but it doesn't fit the lights in anyway

Yes the wires are normal.
The Stonguard comes speperate somewhere in the box you must apply it yourself. it wont fit the whole light assebly Mine has a 1-2cm gap at the bottom
Yeah the gap in the ring (just like the oem angel eyes) and the wires that exit that gap are the single reason I added the Kamei eyebrows. The eyebrows cover the wires, and give the car a much more aggressive look IMO.
As for the stonegard, i just didn't put it on. It looks like ass IMO, and would certainly degrade the performance of the ellipsoids. I realize that I am making myself vulnerable to cracks and breakage via road debris, but I bought these things because they look awesome, and greatly improve night vision. Adding stonegard would dimish both, and hell, they say the ZKW glass is pretty thick, I've had them for a year, and had problems.
I did add the stonegard to both the fogs and corner lights as they didn't really affect the looks of either.
The kit from Kamei comes with most everything you need. Easy enough to install, they come with the necessary primers and adhesives in addition to a secure screw fit on to the headlight assembly. Had 'em sprayed at a local shop for 50bucks.
jrhaile: I wouldn't believe those stories. Bavarian Autosport has been around longer than you are I have been alive(est. early 1960's I believe). Their staff is second to none, and there shipping is always lightining fast. I've spent thousands there over the years, and would say they have no equal in terms of BMW enthusiast shops. A word of advice though, if your not sure about something, call them. I've been ify a few times, and the salesperson talked me out of it. They are usually pretty quick to tell you if they don't like a product they sell.
balance17 and spieluhr: It's up to you whether you want to install the stoneguard. I put it on, and thought it looked like crap so I took it off. I didnt take any pics when I put it on, but just imagine what 1/2" thick scotch tape would look like placed over a piece of glass.
