How do you like your car? how is the power and acceleration? Any major mechanical problems ie tranny or motor?

I'm going to be buying my gf a 318 with 160k miles on it but the car has all records and is in immulicate condition. it's a 92 too. The guy is asking 6700 which seems like a lot, but I've got him down to 5500. Plus there has been a lot of work done to it... here's a link.

Let me know what you guys think...

EDIT: I also need a vin check if possible: WBACA5312NFG03516

Its a manual. Go for it. It won't be as peppy as the 6, but its a very peppy 4, especially give its displacement. A lot of 4s have to run 2.0L or higher for similar power.

I think that may still be a little expensive, given the age in conjunction with the mileage. I paid that much for a 95 with 144k miles, but I robbed them blind with my trade in got $3,500 (normal trade in value of the car) with a $2,000 problem.

Nice Car but a little steep!!!
Mine is a 97' 318i, white sedan, and I bought it for $5000, with only 110k miles! And is still in great conditions. It came fully loaded and with 17's stock (from 2000 330ci).
Ohh and definitely get it 5spd, is much quicker than auto, plus gas mileage is a bonus!! (33 mpg avg. city/hwy).
only problem is not to fast, on the highway i don't go over 90 cause the revs are a little high (about 4000rpm) and i don't wanna over do it. But i mostly drive in the city which is great.

hmmm good advice, and I know that it seems a little steep but that dude has put a lot of work into it. the interior and exterior is flawless. Even so, I even think it's a little steep. I'll try to bring him down. Thanks for the vin check...

Plus red on black is sexy... first thing I'll do is tint it 20% :P

I'd be a bit cautious with a car with that amount of mileage. I know BMWs fair well over the years but I couldn't do it. I used to own a 318iS and it was never trouble. The power was okay (140bhp) but I always wanted more. I couldn't afford the insurance on anything bigger than the 1.9 engine so my decision was made for me.

The 6's take the mileage a bit better than the 4's. I bet you could get one with a lot less mileage for a similar price.

See cool thing is, all the work that I was gonna do to it is pretty much done. All I'd add is a m3 spoiler and tint it. So I'm not sure an the moment...
