Its only like a 2 hour drive from where i live, so im going to to and test drive it on wednesday or thursday. The guy is the second owner, first was his brother who had to sell it in a divorce. Had it serviced at BMW regulary. Had it detailed every 2 months. New tires, clutch at 90k, new suspension, and new exaust. No rust. So you think 6k is a fair price for this car, if what he says is all true.
unless u know ur $HiT, bit the bullet and take it 2 a mechanic. tell him whats up and to find something wrong w/it. if he dosnt, BUY it, its a nice car.
also, get the history from carfax. dont cut corners when buying take ur time.
If you're interested, I'm selling my 95 318i for $5700. (negotiable). It has 138K miles, but is in immaculate condition and has had all the work done on schedule. New tires, exhaust, belts.
Thanks for the offer, but im looking for a 325is. Does anyone know of a good BMW mechanic down in lisle, il? And what do you think a good look over will cost me?

Probably cost you a couple hours labour, and that depends on your mechanic...
