For the past few months ive been trying to sort out my overheating problem

ghead . I have replaced

1 thermostat
2 thermo housing
3 another housing
4 hoses
5 water pump
6 my girlfriend

But finally i think i have it , i was checking for leaks an i heard a hissing noise close to the neck of the radiator , so my radiator needs replacing , do you think that the radiator could explain coolant loss

which spiggot was it the upper or lower one?

i have had the same problem what happens is once the car has an overheat problem the spiggots (thats what they are called , those necks that the hoses go on) become stiff and brittle then eventually will break off.
give those necks a good wiggle, if they break than opps!

also check those hoses.

p.s- when my radiator went it was the upper spiggot.

its actually not coming from the spiggot but from where the radiator is clamped together , just left of the spiggot, do you think this loss in pressure would cause coolant loss (would have to top up every day)

Yes, it does sound like that is the prob. You probably need a new radiator(ouch).

Don't try those radiator leak stoppers that you pour in with the coolant. They can f*** up your whole sys.

Maybe a reputable shop can fix it for cheaper then the cost of a new one.

Thanks Mattijah, i think ill be better off playing it safe and replacing it , i just hope thats it cause if that doesnt solve it , it could be the head gasket

no, it was all your gf, she would sneek into your garage at night and sabatoge your radiator and slowly every night drain coolant so one day you finally get screwed and ar stuck on the side of the road.
