The car has 182k miles, and I figure with that many miles on it there could be specific things wrong with it.

I checked out the car and the only thing I really noticed was some leaking on the rear axl. The dealer said it was just rear axl fluid, and he was aware of a crack in the seal. He suggested just filling it up once a year, but I'd tend to think that it would be replaced. Then again, what do I know...

If anybody could take a few minutes and let me know if there is anything specifically I should be looking for (problem-wise) on this model, let me know. Also any suggestions on the rear axl problems would be great.

Other Information:
1993 BMW 325is
182000 Miles
He's asking $5300

Thanks.

Look in the FAQ for an E36 common problems\failure thread.

I'd replace the seal instead of filing it up every year, the car better be in good shape if your gonna pay that much for an 11 year old car with that many miles... A leaking axle seal dosn't sound too good either. This is the seal on the differential, right?

Yeah, its on the differential. (Thanks, couldn't think of what it was called.) Any idea what I should ask for it, since everybody so far has said he's asking way too much.

if you could work him down to 4k, that would be something to consider, but $5300 is a little much, you can find one with lower mileage for that price
