TDS 2.5 fuel pump non delivery

hello, i hope somebody can help me get my new toy on the road. its a 2.5 tds estate. my problems started after i bought the car as a ropey runner, it tried turning over but was hydrauliced, i thought an injector had overfuelled and filled a pot. i left the car for a couple of weeks and when i came back to it the battery was totally flat. with a good charge in the battery the car would not even attempt to start off the key , i was advised that the chipped key had probably lost its memory and would need re setting. on to of this the engine turned out to be totally shot so i have fitted 525 tds engine, the car still wont turn off the key though all ign lights come on. i have swapped the pumps so that it has the 325 pump on but although the pump is sucking deisel it all goes back to tank if i short the starter and spin it over. any ideas please, surely having a flat battery cant mean going to a main dealer which would probably cost more than the car is worth

you did not specify the year model of your car, but check the starter and fuel pump relays.

I had a 325TDS at my shop with exactly the same problem. I couldn't get around the problem but someone else is looking at it and if they fix it I will post it. Good luck.
