No matter how dumb you may think that someones question is, there are people that don't know everything, and the reason they come to this forum or any forum is because they need help or info on something they don't know about. We should all be tolerant of any question no matter how small or dumb. Remember there was a time when even you know-it-alls didn't actually know everyhting, and asked the occasional dumb question. Take it easy on the new guys.
as far as I'm concerned, unless it's pinned up top, all questions are open game. The search feature is really flaky. For example you type in EWS system problems and you're going to get every topic with the word system in it. Doesn't work well :P
if it's in the FAQ and you know it, I think a good suggestion to point someone in that direction if as helpful as yelling at them. I've been here for over a year and I still ask "stupid" questions that have been talked about because I can't find it sometimes. We need to lay off of the n00bs and cut them some slack. Afterall, we want more members don't we?
You have to have at least 3 letters to use the search feature, and most queries use more then three letters. We were all nubs at one point, so i think you (Cruzin323is) should take it easier on the newcomers
Yeah. People have the right to not know somethings. For anyone out there with a question they need answered: make sure you have ran searches on the site and in Google beore you post it here. I, for one, know very little about cars, etc., yet I make sure I have tried as much as possible to not bug the people on this site more than is necessary. I guess everyone is busy postwhoring in the member's lounge, and we don't want to ruin that, do we?

Have to agree with jrhaile, the search function here is useless. If I want to do any serious searches for my car I just go to bimmerforums.com, that is Boolean logic at its best.

what the hell did i do???? why is my name even in this convo????
I get tired of the guys posting aggressively to a thread telling the guy in it to use the search function. I've used it a number of times and it doesn't work that well, sometimes not at all. In any forum I have participated in, over the years you can expect repeat questions going on for ever, whether it is the model rail road forums, rail fan forums, photography forums or running forums, all I have been involved in.
It doesn't take much more effort to give the guy the answer rather than to aggressively challenge him to use the "search" button.
