Thrice is showing the 4-door style individual light, then a 2-door tail light on the car... They have a slight different look between the two. So if your car is a 2-door model your lights would look like the ones on the red car and if your car is a 4-door they'll look like the studio pic of the clear lens.
Here's a couple of pics of my kids 4-door 328i with those clear tail lights with chromed clear turn signal bulbs....
They look a lot better than stock, and the chromed clear turn signal bulbs look better than the amber showing through the lens IMHO. For the money I think they're a good buy. The fit and plug-n-play of the lights is also superb.
Here's the front end ....
Clear corner lights with SilverStar bulbs, Clear Halo-D headlights with SilverStar bulbs, Diamond Cut Clear Lens Foglights with SilverStars.
Bilsteins and X-Brace underneath but you can't see it....
Here is how the tail lights should look. They should look OEM from Europe where the amber part is clear.
The pics do it as much justice as possible. My buddy bought his car and it already had them on it. He just blacked the hell otu of it until he buys new ones.
I havent gotten around to painting my bulbs with a light layer of silverr in order to prevent the amber "egg yolk" look.

The bulbs I used were silver coated, its not a paint on the outside of the bulb. Its some other type of heatproof coating. I don't know how well a chrome paint would hold up to the heat without turning funky. Here's a Ebay link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB..._BIN_Stores_IT. There's also bright LEDs available that are clear but light up amber http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1156-...16366143QQrdZ1, they work very well and last forever.
Im aware of those bulbs, but for those cheap bastard DIY junkies out there like myself ill just get some high heat silver paint and spray a light layer on top. Just as easy. Later on I plan on buying LED bulbs from jlevisw.com
