Tail lights and low beams not working

'92 318i. Re-spliced and taped trunk wiring,replaced all
fuses(none blown, new ones light up if blown)and re-
placed light switch on dash(not plug, just switch).
All I can think of now is a relay. I checked the ones in
the fuse box with no change. There's another small
relay box beside the fuse box with 3 inline relays,red
blue and orange. Are these my driving lights? Does
anyone have another solution that doesn't involve
tearing apart my cars' interior looking for broken
wires?

I know you said you checked the relays, but specifically have you checked #6 it is for low beam lighting, as for the three relays in the little box one of them is for your fuel pump (should be blue), the white one is for your DME, and orange your oxygen sensor relay according to a diagram i found. This diagram is for a 325i but i believe it is the same for the 318.

I actually swapped #4 which I think
on your relay map is the horn, which
I know works, for #6 and still no
lights but the horn still worked. Our
relay maps are alittle different be-
cause I don't have a#5 which is
tail lights I believe, for you. But I
sure appreciate the info on the
small relay box, I couldn't find that
anywhere. Thanx.

Your welcome, have you figured out how fix your lighting problem yet?

No not yet. Working alot of overtime,
so not much time to play with it. I'm
going to test the wires that go to the
light switch plug next, I'll keep you
posted.
