| I'm considering buying a '96 325is, but it is an automatic and I want a manual. How difficult would the swap be to a 5 or 6 speed? How much would it cost. I'd like to get a used tranny, with low miles preferrably. I just want it to be strong, handle as much as 350 horses, though it probably will never see that many, and be reliable. I'd prefer a 6 speed of course, what would be the cost/labor differences for a DIYer. I'm not about to spend $3,500 for a new transmission. Could you rebuild one with high mileage to be good as new? What kind of costs am I looking at? |
