Sweet feature I didnt know about....

I didnt know about this until now, and some of you probably dont either. I thought maybe only the M3 did this, but I just went out and did it on my 328i. If your car is 9/96 and up, it should work.

Leave car in on position and have your windows down, then turn it off with windows down.
Get out of the car and lock it.
Take key out and put back in turn it towards the locking position, and wait for 2-3 windows.
Your windows will automatically go up.

Does this with the sunroof too. Go try it, its awesome....

Does anyone know the trick for the self check? It is where the gauges go all the way to their max and then back? I have been trying to figure out how to do this and what it is doing when it does it.

the window thing is going to be my new trick for getting the ladies.

I'm pretty sure the guage test is done by putting the key to run, and then holding the trip reset for 10 seconds.

As for the window trick, its pretty common in all the e36s. I don;t when it started, but I know 94s have it, and probably 93s.

Oh yeah, theres a way to wire the keyless remote to do it. I will look around and try to find that.

Ya I know the trick for self check.

Don't put the key in the ignition

HOLD the button under your speedometer.

Then turn your key to either 1 or 2 postion not sure (don't turn your car on) , then let go of the button.

Enjoy the show it goes upto 6, where at 6 all your gauges go to the max.

hey guys
i just tried it on my 1996 328i and for some reason it just did not work. i dont know if i am doing something wrong but would be extremely happy if it work. anyone else get it to work on a 96 328i ?

i sat in my car, turned it on, rolled down the windows.....then got out locked the doors....took the key out ......out the key back in the door and turned it right (to the lock position), nuthing happened.

any suggestions?

did you hold the key on the lock position, it 12 at night here I just walked outside and tried it, it works.
