Thumbs up

I have a 1994 318ic which is going to need a new engine someday (has 195k) on it and I am thinking (dreaming?) if it is possible to swap the 4 cyl for the m3 engine that was in the 1995 m3 or at least getting a '94 325ic engine.

I am guessing that I would need a new computer, insturment panel, engine and transmission, ugraded suspention (?). In addition, I would like to swap my auto for a 5 speed manual. I figure that all in all it would cost about 8 k. Any thoughts on the feasiblity of it or legality (if it is an issue) of it? Has anyone tried to swap their 4 cyl for a 6 cyl and is it worth it?

Lastly, any thoughts on the life span on the 318ic engine. Mine has 195k but still in good conidition.

Thanks in advance to your responses. I am new to the forum but read through all the posts in like a day and loved this community. This is my 3rd BMW, I had a '84 318i, 1985 528e and currently a beautiful 1994 318iC. Love them all!

Tony
