I want to get my 323i chipped, is this worth doing (power gains?) and:
a) Is it gonna kill my fuel economy (ha, economy indeed)
B) upset the smooth running of the car
Any help appreciated, I'm still very new to this BMW lark!

It will give you better fuel economy by reprogramming the fuel curves are partial throttle so even when you're cruising you get better mpgs.

in theory. most OBDII reporgmmers don't do very much. The increase your rev limit, but thats about it.

hmmm.... it does more than just change your rev limiter... fuel curves... acceleration enrichment.... vanos control.... re-maps the throttle fuel and spark... transition fueling... for fast pedal responses....
Like I said... I think it can do a little more than just increase your rev limiter.

you have to convert the whole engine to obdI via kit and change out of the computer and intake system.
