i have basically jus got to the point where i dont have enough power. i got intake, chip and exhaust and dont really know what else i can do besides pullies and i have heard negative things about them, so that seems to be a no go. im thinking i need a supercharger or a turbo setup, i know what both do so dont lecture about either or, i wanna know if any members have either setup and for them to tell about their power gains. it seems like turbo setup would be way cheaper considering all the supercharger systems are 5 grand and up. what you guys suggest for more power, supercharge or turbo?

turbo would actually be more expensive by the time you get the new manifolds and the rest, and then labour of trying to get it into your car. A super charger doesnt require near the work of a turbo. Personally i would prefer a turbo, even though you dont get the full kick out of it until higher rpm's the kick when you get it is more than the supercharger will give you "also depends on wat turbo and wat psi it is running at"
Hey 325is1994...check out Active Autowerke and you can see the power difference between a turbo and a supercharger as well as a price for top of the line equipment.
buy some cams. then go for turbo. there wont be turbo lag if u dont go with a gigantic turbo and if u tune it correctly. but of course a bmw was made to be a powerful NA.
how do you like the sound of a turbo better, it makes no noise unless you have a blow-off, and how does that sound better than the whistling of a super charger? you can hear it all the time unlike a blow-off which doesnt make noise unless you change gears or rev your engine
how about that hybrid turbonectics turbocharger that doesn't lag? I read aobut it a while ago, search and see how you like it

You can hear a turbo as well....
I would go for a supercharger, my reasoning is that it is better to have to power earlier, because you can not stay in the upper rpm range all the time even while on a track. And while you get more power from a turbo and they are more efficent ie. supercharger loses power due to friction ect, the power comes in at a slightly more useable rpm range. If you set a turbo up to kick in at a lower range you are sacrificing a lot of potential power from the turbo. However, if I had a lot of money I would love to have a twin turbo setup, have boost throughout the whole range, lots of power and no lag.
id go with a supercharger cause you'll have power anytime you want. if you really like the sound, i've seen and heard some cars with superchargers that have blow-off valves. so you might wanna check into that.
