Sunroof "Tilt Mode"

my sunroof opens fine all the way when i just "normally" open it
but when i go to tilt it i think i may have a malfunction- from the outside of the car it tilts up about 1.5" but on the inside of the car the panel only goes back about 4 inches, which seems to be a malfunction.. being as it barely lets any air in.. is this a malfunction or is this the way that it normally is?

mine doesn't go back all the way either, so I would assume that is the way it was designed.

i was wondering about that, it would go back a bit on the 318, but on my 325 the panel inside doesnt move at all when i tilt it

tonight when i got home, i got curious about the panel not moving when i tilt the sunroof, so i tilted it, and moved the panel back by hand, and surprise, it moved, and it went all the way back, not just a couple of inches like on the 318

Hmm.. My M does the same thing... Sounds normal to me. I will try pushing the cover back by hand tonight when I get home...
