Sunroof Problem

Hey guys, my 1993 325is was having a bit of a sunroof problem a few months ago. In order to get it to tilt upwards, I had to give it a little push while holding the button down, else it wouldn't go up.

One fateful day, as I was giving it a push, something snapped and the sunroof opened WAAAAAAY past how much it's supposed to open. Now it doesn't open at all. I'm 99% sure some of the plastic pieces within broke because my motor is working fine.

It's winter now, so there's no use for the sunroof, but the rattle is EXTREMELY annoying. Anyone have any idea of where I can buy the replacement plastic pieces for the roof and/or how much it would cost me to get fixed at the BMW dealership?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

its tough to work on sunroofs even a decent DIYer can have trouble with them. im not even sure you can manually crank it if it does get stuck. in all honesty what level of garage mechanic are you? if you dont feel confident in doing it i suggest a mechanic. you may need to take the whole cartridge out and find the broken spot, weather it be one of the arms or off the guides etc.
