sunroof / power window problems

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I hope you guys can help me out. I have a 1992 318i 4 door. Recently, I had a problem with my car. My sunroof and power windows are inoperable. When you try to use the window controls or sunroof control nothing happens. I checked the circuit breaker (lightning icon) switch below the dashboard and no effect. I checked the fuses and they all looked fine. I think it's the "comfort relay" according to my BMW mechanics book but I can't find where they hide the relay. According to my Chilton's BMW Repair Manual the K78 X1181 "Comfort Relay" is supposed to be located under the left dashboard. I'm not a genius when it comes to car repair but I can do most of the standard service and maintenance. Can anyone help me and tell me how do get access to the relays that are supposed to be located under the left dashboard. Has anyone ever had the same problem and resolved their issue? Did it end up being a relay? I didn't know if I should start removing the dashboard covers off until I did some more research. Is there an easy way to get access to these relays?

The comfort relay is located behind the kne bolster under the steering wheel. Remove the cover then the metal part and you will see 5 or 6 relays on a lastic piece. comfort relay is the one by itself.
