Hey guys, I am thinking about tinting the windows for the upcoming summer. Does anybody know what the limits are in the south (LA,MS,AL,FL,GA), and if I can also tint the front windows (4door) and the windshield?
This site has everything. I'm quite sure most shops will install almost anything. After all, they aren't going to be paying the ticket the cop writes you. I'm not sure though.
I live in Florida and have 5% which is illegal but have never gotten pulled over for it. I believe 20% is the legal limit.

Many states go by a light transmission % not the % of the tint so this could be why you havent gotten much attention from the local coppers.

This is means 5% transperant. which is equal to limo tint.
That is the light transmission %, if it was only 5% tinted it would be alot lighter.

Yeah, you should be fine whatever tint you get. The only problem with the 5-O you might have is if they pull you over for speeding and notice the dark tint close up. Chances of the cops pulling you over for the tint only is probably slim to none.
Only thing I've got to say about tint on the driver's/ passenger's window is it's a bitch at night, but you could just drive with your window down if it's warm.

I've gotten pulled over plenty of times for speeding and they have never said anything. The main thing is on the windshield don't get it too low.

True. Only 4". And you're right. The cop has to make the observation. Chances are he won't or doesn't even care enough to check. I'm not even sure if there is a good way to check light transmission while in the field...
